 Saturday afternoon, in Manila, Philippines, Carlos Tamara defeated IBF junior flyweight champion Brian Viloria by a 12th round TKO. Viloria used his strong punches to keep his opponent at bay throughout the bout. Going into the later rounds, Viloria began to show fatigue. Then Tamara punished the champion until referee Bruce McTavish stepped in to end the contest in the 12th round. Official time of stoppage was 1:45.
It was reported afterward that Viloria had collapsed in his dresssing room. An ambulance quickly rushed him to the hospital.

Some fight fans do not like to hear anything about a rivalry between the sports of MMA and boxing or even the UFC and boxing. These fans will say that you can be a fan of both or neither, and that they are totally different, hence making either comparison illogical.
