The fight will be televised on HBO.
Bradley was born on August 29, 1983, in Palm Springs, California and currently carries a record of 25-0, 11 KOs.
After boxing in at least 145 amateur bouts, Bradley turned pro in 2004. In May of ’08, Bradley defeated Junior Witter for the WBC title, getting a close but fair split decision victory.
In April of ’09, Bradley defeated Kendall Holt by a unanimous decision to WBC/WBO unification bout. Not long after the win, Bradley was stripped of the WBC belt for not facing Devon Alexander on time. Bradley remained the WBO champion.
Next, in August of ’09, Bradley took on former lightweight champion Nate Campbell and battered him for three rounds before the contest was stopped due to a cut on Campbell. At first, Bradley was awarded the TKO victory, but the result was changed to a no contest a few weeks later when it was determined that the cut was caused by a head butt.
Then, in December of ’09, Bradley dominated top prospect Lamont Peterson, winning a clear unanimous decision.
When Bradley faces Abregu this weekend, he will be taking on a very tough opponent in a new weight division. He will need to be in top form if he wants to come out with another victory. If Bradley is victorious, then there is a fair possibility that he will campaign at welterweight again in the future.
